There has been externally a fight against good and evil. I am puzzled by this at times. If good is so good then why would anyone be against it. Often I think that power is the reason. People want power and to be "king". They want to be the one calling the shots. I guess they think that they can do it better. Other times I am convinced that it is as easy as a quote from the latest Batman movies, "some people just want to watch the world burn." Make no mistake being a Christian means people are watching you and gunning for you. As Christians we are no different or. Better than anyone else. We are flawed and make mistakes, and being a Christian we need to be prepared when we make a mistake and own it by asking for forgiveness. Often Christianity takes a hit when one of its own commits a grave sin so evil in nature. How a church suffers when a pastor, priest or staff member abuses someone let alone someone of its own flock. As Christians we are under constant attack. Temptation is on full display at every corner and that it is why it is so important to keep a close relationship with God. For the farther we stray from his side the easier it is to fend off temptations. Make no mistake that we also need to be on alert that our churches can be under attack from within. I have no doubts that Satan constantly tries to work his way into every church on earth and corrupt, discredit and scandalize each from with in. I now that for this reason many Christians have decided to avoid the Church altogether, and here Satan success as well. It the old plot to divide and conquer. As Jesus has said, "no kingdom divided against itself can stand." This is why as Christians it is important to look past our differences and unite under Christ. For with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit as our foundation Christians can be untied together in one unified holy Church and overcome any obstacle, foe or challenge that comes our way.
Mark 3:22-30
22And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Be-el'zebul, and by the prince of demons he casts out the demons." 23And he called them to him, and said to them in parables, "How can Satan cast out Satan? 24If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. 26And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end. 27But no one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man; then indeed he may plunder his house. 28"Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; 29but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin" -- 30for they had said, "He has an unclean spirit."
