Mark 3:7-12
Jesus withdrew toward the sea with his disciples.A large number of people followed from Galilee and from Judea.
Hearing what he was doing,
a large number of people came to him also from Jerusalem,
from Idumea, from beyond the Jordan,
and from the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon.
He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd,
so that they would not crush him.
He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases
were pressing upon him to touch him.
And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him
and shout, "You are the Son of God."
He warned them sternly not to make him known.
I usually see a good thing coming, though not always. When I read these lines I wonder if people were following Jesus because he was the Son of God, because of his teaching or just because he was healing people. I think about myself and the gifts that I have been given by God. I don't worry about hunger, I have a roof over my head, money in the bank and my families health is of no concern. Do I really appreciate these blessings or do I take them for granted. Right now I am thankful, but I have to admit that there are times that I overlook them. I am so blessed do I share my blessings with others less fortunate? Sometimes yes sometimes no. I read this and realize that Jesus didn't hold anything back, and neither should I.Jesus,
I love you but I am sorry that I take you for granted. Help me to be more cognizant of you and your blessings. Help me to not waste a one and to share them with others. Help me to find my way to Heaven and to help others to get there too.
In Jesus Christ's name I pray,
Amen
