One of the Coolest Dudes EVER!

John 1:29-34

John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him and said,
"Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.
He is the one of whom I said,
'A man is coming after me who ranks ahead of me
because he existed before me.'
I did not know him,
but the reason why I came baptizing with water
was that he might be made known to Israel."
John testified further, saying,
"I saw the Spirit come down like a dove from the sky
and remain upon him.
I did not know him,
but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me,
'On whomever you see the Spirit come down and remain,
he is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.'
Now I have seen and testified that he is the Son of God."

For some reason I think that John the Baptist is one of the coolest guys in the Bible. He didn't care about other people thought. He just went his own way and loved God,  and really his own way wasn't his way, he was following God's way. He heard God's mission for him and he owned it. It threw himself into it completely. I'll be honest, I don't really know why I am here other than to love God completely and to love everyone I meet as I would want to be loved. Sometimes I nail it, other times I completely fail. John was a strange guy, I mean come on eating locusts, it's something that I think about putting on my bucket list... but my wife is an amazing cook. "Hey honey, put dinner away were going to go in the backyard and eat locusts tonight.", yeah that wouldn't fly well. And raw honey that he ate, well obviously he wasn't allergic to bee stings. Anyway John's passion for the lord just overwhelms me. He is one of the guys that inspires me when I get down. He loved, he loved and gave himself completely to God. He worked endlessly to help others find their place in the kingdom of God. How do I do that? How do I? How can I devote myself so completely and love like John, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God do?. I have to just let go. I have to let go of my ego and just love.

Jesus,

Help me to find my mission. Help me to love in all circumstances. I do pretty good when things are going well but when they are bad I usually fall really short. I'm sorry. I want to love like you do. I want to sit at your feet, learn, and love. Please forgive me. I don't want to make you mad. I want to make you proud. I love you so much Jesus, thank you.
